APPNA HOUSE SERVICES

Posted By: Zeeshan Zafar on Monday, January 25, 2010

APPNA HOUSE has proved to be a great Alma matter in different perspectives for almost 70 residents who have benefitted from it lately in the past 7 months for various periods of time. Please comment about how you feel about the project so far and how to improve and expand it further.

Hello,

I'm a final year medical student of dow medical college,duhs...ive been selected to do clinical electives at Bronx Va Medical Centre through Mount Sinai School of Medicine's electives program.
I'm looking for a place to stay in new york for a couple of months (3rd Sept-3rd Nov).. A few of my friends told me that APPNA helps out medical students with the accommodation as well. This is going to be my first visit to New York so I don't know much about the city. So I was wondering if your organization could me help me out with this. My friend Saad has already been granted permission to stay in APPNA house. He and I will fly out together on the 3rd of Sept.

Thank You

I am living in the phili Apna house and it is like a home and hostel. It is really a nice project by those of our seniors who knew the pain and suffering of living in usa without having any relative etc.I will like to thanks especially Dr.Masood and waqas khan who takes so much pain to monitor every aspect of it and i hope to continue it.It should run like this without any involvement of politics....

I had been living in Apna House for last 6 months. Now I am back in pakistan . It was really like a house for us . I could not imagine living in Nyc at such low expenses almost free and I would never forget  the guidance for the whole process of match provided to me by Apna Members . Apna house is located very near to subway station and there are many grocery stores nearby so life was very comfortable there. It is due to apna house that I did not miss my homeland througout 6 months in usa . God bless apna house .

I have been staying in APPNA House for last 5 months. Every one knows how difficult it is to find a place to live in New York. APPNA house has solved this problem. It is like you are living in NY for free as you pay only $ 100 per month. In return, you live in a friendly and accommodative environment. You meet doctors from different medical colleges struggling for residency and you also learn a lot from their experiences. You make contacts here. If you ever get chance to live in hostel, you gonna really love this place. You live together, make fun and share jokes; and hang out together. Although, it's in the Bronx, but I never had any problem in terms of security. I would like to request all the settled physicians, please donate generously because APPNA House is not a project just in papers, it is really in existence and helping a lot for many doctors. I salute Dr. Waqas (Our Body Bhai) and Dr. Saqib for their selfless efforts as they are always available to help and they are the main who are governing this house. I would feel very honour to donate for this excellent project once I got the residency Inshahallah. May Allah keep His blessing on this house and keep this project growing. Ameen

Assalam u alikum!

I shifted to appna house almost about a month ago. What can I say, its a blessing in disguise. Now its really apna house for me. I highly recommend this house for the upcoming doctors. I also request all our well settled docs all over country to please donate as much as you can to this organisation, Our Organisation. I am not yet in a position to give any funds but inshAllah I will not forget these services.

It is very kind of our senior Pakistani doctors to donate generously for Appna house. I am doing honorary research in cornell university and was worried that residence in NYC is very expensive but Appna house residence is very economical. All the residents are doctors it gives us an extra advantage of discussing various issues just like we used to do in hostel life. We are a happy family here. I would like to thank all the Pakistani doctors who are donating for this house especially Doctor Waqas Khan who takes time from his busy schedule to look into the matters of this house.Thank you body bhai may Allah bless you for helping others. Also Dr. Saqib who being in NYC visit the house regularly as Appna representative. Thank You again All Pakistani doctors. Once I get residency i will be the one donating for this project.

I have been living in the appna house for the last 5 months and it is like a home and hostel. When i came last year i have no place to live and it was very difficult to pay for expensive accomodation. But this year the opening of Appna house has done a miracle ,living in new york city like free is really  helpful for students and fellows looking for residency. It is really a nice project by those of our seniors who knew the pain and suffering of living in usa without having any relative etc.I will like to thanks especially  waqas khan who takes so much pain to monitor every aspect of it and i hope to continue it like every one who has lived here.It should run like this without any involvement of politics.........
